Since I work at the record library of the Swedish National Radio I get to hear loads of music, different kinds of music. Here are some good stuff released so far this year. The albums contain at least two or three good tracks, which is what you can expect from most bands nowaadays, except The Charade of course. It's not entirely poporiented, but Mikael will see to that.
CROOKED FINGERS - Dignity and Shame
(Beautiful tracks 1-3)
MAXIMO PARK - A Certain Trigger
(English Libertines-ish rock with good melodies)
ROBBIE FULKS - Georgia Hard
(Modern country with a lot of tradition)
GREAT LAKE SWIMMERS - Bodies and Minds
(Just remember that I liked a couple of tracks)
MINUS STORY - Heaven and Hell
(Tracks 1 & 2 are brilliant)
THE GO-BETWEENS - Oceans Apart
(Aussie old timers back with pride)
ANDREW BIRD - Andres Bird and the Mysterious Production of Eggs
(Some really good tracks. Hard to explain why)
SAM PREKOP - Who's Your New professor?
(I love Chicago's The Sea And Cake. This is one of the guys)
ROGER NICHOLS & THE SMALL CIRCLE OF FRIENDS - S.T.
(The only sixties album you'll ever need, apart from Pet Sounds of course)
JEAN CLAUDE VANNIER - L'ENFANT ASSASIN DES MOUCHES
(Strange french early seventies orchestral work, based on a story by Serge Gainsbourg)
JEAN JACQUES PERREY & GERSHON KINGSLEY - The In Sound From Way Out
(The worlds first synthesizer pop album, 1966, that brings back memories from my childhood. Perrey is the moog-master of Europe)
I'll come back soon with my alltime favourite popsongs!!!
